About Mulvane Public Library

The Mulvane Public Library was organized by the Federated Women’s Club in 1921. After an election in 1928, it officially became a City Entity. The Library has occupied numerous buildings in the downtown area, including the Pix Theater building for many years. In 2016 the Library relocated to the current building at 408 N. 2nd Ave, which was designed and constructed as a library space. The building features a multipurpose room, computer lab, genealogy area, study rooms, comfy seating for people of all ages, and windows!

The Library offers dynamic programming year-round for all ages.  Call, stop by, or browse our website for the complete listing of services and resources the Library provides the community.

KanShare Consortium

In 2016, the Mulvane Public Library Director proposed a partnership with two neighboring libraries with the goal of a shared catalog and open sharing of materials.  This group, since named the KanShare Consortium, quickly grew to include 8 total libraries in the Wichita area and was officially launched in 2019-2020.  The partnership has expanded patron access to materials, provided significant cost savings, and created numerous administrative efficiencies in regards to processes and policies.  Current KanShare Public Libraries include: Andover, Augusta, Derby, El Dorado (Bradford Memorial), Goddard, Mulvane, Park City, and Rose Hill.
